South/Central America

Enormous steaks from the pampas and tango in Buenos Aires, the city's famous Recoleta Cemetary, fly-fishing the Futalefu River, and the Swiss heritage at Bariloche in the Andes, the immensity of Iguazu Falls at the Brazilian border, whale watching in Zodiacs in Piramides Bay and wandering among thousands of Magellenic penguins at Peninsula Valdez.

The massive and looming Perito Moreno glacier, calving blocks of ice the size of traincars, day-hiking out of the luxurious Explora Lodge under the granite towers of Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia, cruising on the small luxury ship Mar Australis in the footsteps of Darwin through the Beagle Channel and the Straits of Magellan to the end of the earth--Tierra del Fuego. The colonial architecture and elegant restaurants, with more enormous steaks and iconic Chilean Carmenere wine, in Santiago.

The dramatic ruins of Machu Picchu in the Urubamba Valley in Peru are among the ruins of the world to see, preceded perhaps by a walk up the Inca Trail.  Experiencing historical Cuzco at 13,000 feet altitude, an Amazon river cruise, 'canopy walking' at over 100 feet of height in the triple canopy of the tropical jungle, and the amazing fauna of the Galapagos Islands. The Otavalo native market in Ecuador, the white sand beaches of Brazil, as well as the fascinating colonial and cultural towns of Salvador and Paraty, wildlife viewing in the Pantanal, the largest wetland area in the world, and the charming and lovely colonial perfection of Cartagena in Caribbean Colombia.

In Central America, the cloudforest at Monteverde, and volcanoes and beaches of Costa Rica, Mayan ruins at Tikal in Guatemala, and in Belize, the colonial wonder of Antigua, and many locations in Mexico make for wonderful vacations.

These are some of the experiences we have been privileged to accumulate over the years, and which aid in crafting a unique journey for you.
